The Telegraph: The Royal Navy is in a truly pitiable condition...
Just like the administration before it, this warning will be ignored by Keir Starmer whose so-called government is intent on destroying our ability to defend Britain.
First, the Conservatives took a hatchet to the armed forces – disabling it from doing what at times must be done., fight and win WARS.
Then they armed and funded a foreign army with our money to fight a war they could not win.
Then they gifted billions upon billions of pounds worth of bullets and equipment, leaving us with just two weeks' worth of bullets to engage the likes of Russia.
Now we have a UK-Labour government that refuses to properly fund the British Army, Royal Air Force, and the Royal Navy..., etc.
They peddle a figure of 2.5 percent of GDP to be spent on defence – this is unrealistically inadequate due to the savage defence cuts over the past 14 years.
We need to rapidly expand our armed forces and equip them for the job we ask of them. It is time we put Britain first. We should be spending 20 or 30% of GDP to get us to a point where we can fight, survive, and win on the battlefield. Mr. Sharpe’s article is just another warning that will be ignored - a truly horrifying prospect should Europe descend into the chaos of war and the enemy arrive at our door, unfortunately, by then, it could all be over. Action must be taken now to prepare for war whatever the cost.
As of 2018, the Ministry of Defence (MOD) spent £8.4bn on procuring the Lockheed Martin advanced F-35 fighter jet.
On the 19 of December of 2024, Keir Starmer gave $286 million in a sickening military boost to Ukraine - whilst doing sweet-FA for our armed forces!!
Newsweek December 19, 2024:
The U.K. has pledged to send a £225 million ($286 million) aid package with military equipment to Ukraine, according to Reuters.
The U.K.'s military aid package for Ukraine includes £92 million ($116 million) allocated for equipment meant to bolster Ukraine's navy, comprising small boats, reconnaissance drones, uncrewed surface vessels, loitering munitions, and mine countermeasure drones.
Some £68 million ($85.5 million) will go toward air defense equipment including radars, decoy land equipment, and counter-drone electronic warfare systems.
An interesting question posed by Tobias Ellwood in April, of 2022 as to our air defence systems: ukdefencejournal.org.uk/what-air-defen
In short, every major city in the UK is at risk due to our inability to mount any kind of defence against a rocket attack.., of the type witnessed during the ongoing war in Ukraine. The package also includes £26 million ($32.7 million), which will be for providing support and spare parts for systems already in Kyiv, and £39 million ($49 million) for more than 1,000 counter-drone electronic warfare systems, respirators, and equipment for Ukraine's Armed Forces. The U.K. has since the war began in 2022, and as of November, it has given Kyiv a total of £12.8 billion, comprising £7.8 billion in military support and £5 billion in nonmilitary support.
The U.K. has also pledged that it will provide £3 billion in support annually until 2030-2031 and for as long as it takes. While Keir Starmer and his government did absolutely nothing about defending the U.K......, other than consider a 2.5% spend on our defence!!!
What price do you put on your freedom??
